A Divine Mandate for All
The very first word revealed in the Quran was "Iqra" (Read). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) clearly stated, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim" (Sunan Ibn Majah). Classical scholars universally agree that "Muslim" in this context inherently includes both men and women. There is no theological basis in Islam for restricting female education.
The Example of Hazrat Aisha (RA)
Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (PBUH), is one of the greatest scholars in Islamic history. She possessed extraordinary intellect and memory. After the Prophet's passing, senior male companions and caliphs would regularly consult her on complex matters of Fiqh, Hadith, and medicine. She personally narrated over 2,200 Hadiths, forming a significant portion of Islamic law.
Mothers as the First Madrasa
A famous Arabic proverb states: "The mother is a school; if you prepare her, you prepare a noble nation." Women are the primary educators of the next generation. A spiritually and intellectually educated mother raises a generation equipped to face moral and societal challenges with an Islamic mindset.
